BLANKET

As I open my eyes, the first thing I see,
Is my mom sitting close, right in front of me.
As I smiled at her, she smiled back with glee,
A beautiful start, as it should be.

With determination, I rise from my bed,
I woke up wrapped in my blanket, a vibrant cherry red.
Plaid patterns all over, my favorite color spread,
Its warmth and comfort start my day ahead.

Cherry red and plaid, from when I was small,
A piece of my past that’s seen it all.
Plaid patterns, so lovely and bright,
It wraps me in comfort, day and night.
It’s been with me through thick and thin,
My mood lifts up, a passion within,
I’ll hold it, through all that’s been.

With every stitch, my passions grew,
Forever I'll cherish, through and through.
In its warmth, my wounds find their mend,
Passions ignite, and emotions blend,
Held in its embrace, love transcends.

Years have passed, but it’s always near,
Comforting me, holding back the fear.
It’s my treasure, my silent cheer,
I’ll keep it, always dear and ever.

This morning’s love, a gentle embrace,
Gives me hope, sets my pace.
With dreams to chase, and goals to grace,
I feel love in every place.

To make my parents proud, healthy, and glad,
They are worthy of all the joy that life can add.
They deserve the world, more than they know,
Their happiness, the love they show.
In their light, I continue to grow,
With them in my heart, I’ll forever glow.

With coffee brewed by hands that care,
By the window, I breathe the fresh air.
Penning these words, my soul finds its light,
For them, my love burns ever bright.

    1. I’m truly grateful to be in this present moment, as it’s the one I once prayed, wished, and manifested for. It’s a beautiful reminder of how far I’ve come. I believe my future holds great promise, and I’m excited to embrace it while cherishing the memories of my past and the warmth of my present !
